To reheat, bake from frozen for 30 minutes or until the bread is hot throughout and crusty. Baked bread can be wrapped and frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw in a bowl covered with a damp tea towel and allow to rise before baking as directed. Freezing: The kneaded dough can be frozen in freezer bags for up to 4 months.Allow to come to room temperature before baking as instructed. Make ahead: This dough can be made up to 4 days ahead and kept in an airtight container in the fridge.Allow the bread to cool completely for the fluffiest, softest interior just begging for a thick layer of butter and flaky sea salt. Cutting into the loaf too quickly can cause the interior to be gummy. Even though a loaf of bread straight from the oven is one of the most glorious things in the world, resist temptation and allow the bread to cool to room temperature before slicing.Turn onto a floured surface knead until smooth and elastic, about. Stir in enough remaining all purpose flour to form a soft dough. Add to dry ingredients beat until smooth. In a small saucepan, heat the milk, water and oil to 120°-130°. The screaming hot pot is 100% the reason the crust is so shatteringly crisp. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, rye flour, sugars, yeast and salt. Preheating the Dutch oven (casserole pot/pot with a lid) in the oven is perhaps the most important step in this recipe. You can leave the dough in the fridge overnight for slow fermentation to happen too. Giving the dough a good 90 minutes to rise allows a good amount of flavor to develop.Using a stand mixer with a dough hook definitely simplifies this recipe even more but it can totally be made by hand. Very strong bread flours (flour with a high protein percentage) might just need a little more rising time. This crusty bread is ready to eat in about 3 hours, start to finish. Do not open the door of the oven until you remove the bread. Pour hot water into the skillet and close the oven door immediately. Place the unbaked loaves on the rack above the skillet. Flour. I’ve used bread flour, cake flour and 00-flour for this recipe. Place a dry cast-iron skillet on the lower rack of the oven.Take care not to use water that is too hot as this will kill the yeast. The water needs to be warm enough so that when you put your finger in it, it feels like nothing (this is called blood temperature). It is easy to make and requires very little effort and delivers a perfectly delicious loaf every time.įull recipe with amounts can be found in the recipe card below. The most delicious crusty bread recipe I have tried.

The Trump Organization not only pursued this opportunity in secret, it - indeed, Trump himself - actively misled the public. The Post next reported that Trump lawyer Michael Cohen emailed Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in January 2016 in a bid to save the deal that Cohen discussed the project with Trump on three occasions and that the effort was dropped when Russian government permission was unforthcoming. It was possible, when The Washington Post first broke the news of the failed deal, to discount the proposal as braggadocio from Felix Sater, the Russian-born real estate developer pushing the deal.īut as it turned out, this was more than Sater freelancing in Trump’s name. It represented something much more disturbing, even unpatriotic. Trump Tower Moscow was not another instance of Trump as unabashed cross-promoter-in-chief, like using the campaign press corps to help tout the reopening of his Scottish golf course. You cannot - even if the prospect of winning seems remote - put yourself in a position of being financially beholden to a hostile foreign power. When you run for president, you cannot - you should not - put yourself in the position of using that candidacy as a door-opening business opportunity. And not just pursuing financial opportunities in Russia, but actively seeking the help of at least one senior Russian official to gain government approval for the project. While he ran for president, Trump was simultaneously - and secretly - pursuing financial opportunities with a foreign adversary. To recap, what we know now that we did not know until recently: The latest revelations feel, at least for now, like more of a political bombshell than a legal problem, but the two are closely related consider how many public officials have landed themselves in legal jeopardy trying to save their political hides. Harvey deluged the Gulf Coast, drowning out the news about Trump’s involvement with Russia. That is where we are now when it comes to the investigation of President Donald Trump and Russia. The lengthy cast of characters resembles a Russian novel. The facts dribble out, in ever more confusing increments. Email: comes a point in the unspooling of every complex political-financial-legal scandal when the story becomes so complicated that it’s easy to lose the thread of what matters. That was an apparent reversal from Wednesday’s television appearance in which he said, “I never said there was no collusion between the campaign or between people in the campaign.” He had previously denied any collusion.Ruth Marcus is a columnist for The Washington Post. In the statement, he said “there was no collusion by President Trump in any way, shape or form” and that he had “no knowledge of any collusion by any of the thousands of people who worked on the campaign.” On Thursday, he issued a statement aimed at clarifying a TV interview from the night before in which he appeared to leave open the possibility of collusion between Russia and members of Trump’s presidential campaign. This was the second time within the past week that Giuliani has walked back comments from the previous day. He concluded by saying the Moscow project “was in the earliest stage and did not advance beyond a free non-binding letter of intent.” Giuliani said Monday in a three-sentence statement that his comments “did not represent the actual timing or circumstances of any discussions.” He said his comments were “hypothetical” and “not based on conversations” he had with the president. That extends the timeline for negotiations well beyond what the president has publicly acknowledged. Giuliani suggested in a TV interview Sunday that Trump remembers conversations with Cohen about the project “up to as far as October, November,” or right up until the 2016 presidential election. President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani on Monday clarified comments he made about discussions between Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen and then-candidate Trump about a real estate project in Moscow.Ĭohen has pleaded guilty to lying to Congress in 2017 by saying he had abandoned the Trump Tower project in January 2016 even though prosecutors say he actually pursued it into June. As many, many people have found out, nail polish on polymer clay will very often turn sticky and goopy over time. It’s convenient, it’s simple, and seems like such a good idea. It’s very common to see polymer clay projects, especially on craft blogs, that recommend using nail polish as a glaze or gloss finish on polymer clay. Using Nail Polish as a Polymer Clay Glaze For more info on covering clay and preventing browning, see my class on Baking Polymer Clay. Then cover your pieces to prevent the oven’s element from toasting your polymer clay project. To prevent this, first make sure that your oven truly is baking at the correct temperature. Light colored or translucent polymer clay will commonly discolor and darken during baking. But when others follow this temperature advice, they end up with fragile, brittle, underbaked clay. What they think is 215☏ might actually be 275☏ in their oven. Will this work? Well, it might work for a specific person because they’re compensating for an incorrect oven. It’s common to read recommendations in forums to set your oven to, for instance, 215☏ (100☌) and bake for an hour or so. Many people assume that baking longer times at lower temperature settings will solve this problem. If you have burned polymer clay, you need to address your oven, not your baking times. If your project is close to the element, your thermometer could be reading the correct temperature but your project could still bubble and blacken. When the oven’s heating element cycles on and off, the heat radiating from it can be tremendous. (Fimo is a bit more sensitive.) If your project actually turns black and bubbles, then your oven is way too hot! As already state, ovens can be wildly inaccurate. Polymer clay does not burn unless it reaches temperatures near 350☏ (176☌). Want to learn more? Here’s my class on baking polymer clay that gives more info about choosing an oven, baking temperatures, and knowing if you’ve baked your clay long enough. Lighter colors may, however, discolor, so it is always better to do multiple bakings of thinner layers. If your oven is truly baking at the correct temperature, your clay will not burn. This means that a 1″ thick bead will need to be baked for two hours. Polymer clay should be baked for at least 30 minutes for each 1/4″ of thickness. I’ve been quite surprised to see that my oven’s dial is often off by 40☏ or more. I use two digital probe thermometers to verify exactly what temperature my oven is during baking. It’s therefore best to bake quite a bit longer than the label suggests to make up for this. (I like this inexpensive digital probe thermometer, but there are many others.) In the real world, even accurate ovens fluctuate during the baking cycle (and when you open the door). Most ovens are inaccurate and it’s important to use a separate oven thermometer to know what temperature your oven actually is. But you really do need to bake at a sufficient temperature for at least as long as the time stated on the package. The temperature on the package is a guideline, and you do have some leeway. To properly bake polymer clay, you must consider both time and temperature. Underbaked polymer clay can also have excess free plasticizer that can lead to cure inhibition in paints and glues, causing them to remain soft and/or sticky. Underbaked clay is not only less flexible, it is susceptible to breaking and crumbling. If polymer clay is underbaked, the fusion will not be complete and the resulting clay mass will be weak. Optimally, the particles will eventually fully fuse together and form a solid mass of plastic. As the temperature increases during curing, the powdered PVC softens in the plasticizer and the particles begin to absorb the plasticizer. Polymer clay is made from PVC powder, plasticizers, binders and fillers, lubricant, and pigments. Of course to have this kind of durability the clay must be properly baked, which leads us to the next point. The stronger brands of polymer clay are durable enough that you cannot break them with your hands, even when used as thin as 1/16″ (1.5 mm). Here’s more about choosing the best brand of polymer clay for your project. These weaker brands do have their uses, however, so save them for other projects. Sculpey III, Original Sculpey, Super Sculpey, and Bake Shop are all quite brittle after baking and should not be used, unsupported, in any area thinner than 1/4″ (6mm). For making things that are thin or have areas that are thinner than 1/4″ (6mm), make sure that you’re using a strong clay such as Premo, Fimo, Pardo, Kato, Cernit, or Souffle. Not all polymer clay brands are created equal and each has its uses and purposes. It’s even more horrifying to realize that you’ve sold something that is made from weak clay and won’t be durable. It is so sad to work hard creating something that breaks when it’s worn or used. Mailsmith requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later Mac OS X 10.5 or later is strongly recommended. That leads me to believe that I need to somehow turn "off" the button mode? If that's the case, how do I do that? If that's not the case, what am I supposed to do here? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. When I'm done and have this figured out, the buttons will have "display = 'none'" and be hidden for the "mobile size".Īnyway, so yeah, the program is still just listening to the buttons, and not the dropdown menu. In addition, I still have the buttons on the screen for all sizes, just for testing/debugging purposes. Note that the dropdown menu will, in the future, only appear when the screen size is 500px or less. I added the function to the existing window.onload function so it would run upon the window loading. My logic was that I needed a function that grabbed the value of the dropdown menu, and then an "if" condition would run that pretty much says "If the value is x, x mode should run else if the value is y, y mode should run", and so on. I want the dropdown menu to behave similarly - when the "party mode" option is selected, the program should switch to "party mode". For example, when the "Party mode" button is clicked, the program switches to "party mode". The dropdown menu is supposed to do exactly what the buttons do - when a certain mode is selected, that's the mode that the program is supposed to switch to. So I decided I'd be better off with a dropdown menu instead that would appear when the screen is 500px or smaller, replacing the buttons. At first, I tried just moving the buttons to the top horizontally, but I didn't like any of the variations I tried. The use of additives did not make or break our toilet paper picks, but they did inform our evaluation. But its toilet paper is made from recycled papers that may have once been bleached, so it can’t be considered totally chlorine-free (which is most ideal). Our Seventh Generation pick’s manufacturing process is completely free of chlorine. Today almost all toilet papers are still purified and whitened using chlorine-based disinfectants and other undisclosed chemicals. In 1998, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) began requiring most paper mills to limit elemental chlorine from being used in toilet paper production, due to carcinogenic concerns. We asked the manufacturers of our top picks whether their toilet paper contained any animal ingredients or byproducts (because some do), and we also asked about what they use to purify and whiten their toilet papers. Additives: Most toilet papers have “proprietary” formulas of chemicals and conditioners that companies typically won’t disclose.Although we didn’t consider FSC certification to be a requirement, we did weigh papers with FSC certification more favorably. Though there are other certifications available, such as from the Swiss Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC, which certifies our budget pick), FSC is considered by environmental leaders (such as the World Wildlife Fund) to have the most rigorous universal standards. Certification: Toilet papers that bear a certification label from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) have been evaluated by the organization and found to be manufactured with responsibly sourced fibers. I prefer using the healing brush in Lightroom, where I can change the brush size with just my Track Pad. While the Magic Eraser is a nice edition, local edits still aren’t as seamless as some competing programs. But, when tones are similar, the tool erases too much, and more precise brushwork is necessary. The tool is nice for deleting areas that have a much different color. That means, however, if the Magic Brush wasn’t precise enough in the first place, the Magic Eraser doesn’t always help. It has the same smarts as the Magic Brush. This tool erases groups of similar pixels from a selection without precise brushwork. Capture One LiveĬapture One’s Magic Brush has met its exact opposite: the Magic Eraser.
